From October 29 to November 1, the 30th Anniversary International Industrial Exhibition Metal-Expo'2024 was held in Moscow at the Expocentre Fairgrounds. According to the organizer's press service, the current forum of metallurgists brought together 875 leading metallurgical companies from Russia, as well as from neighboring and distant countries.

A meeting of the Coordinating Council for Industrial Policy in the Metallurgical Complex was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia M. Yurin, during which the heads of all leading metallurgical companies discussed issues of providing enterprises with domestic equipment and materials, developing the mineral resource base and improving logistics. The participants noted that in 2025, infrastructure projects and mechanical engineering should become the sources of increased demand for metal products. To meet the needs of industry, it will be necessary to master new types of steel products and special steel grades. It was also noted at the meeting that investment projects in various areas of metallurgy are currently being implemented and developed in Russia with the help of state support, including the creation of a domestic stainless steel cluster, the development of a beryllium deposit and technology for the production of bearing steels with particularly high requirements, the creation of a full cycle of magnet production and other projects. M. Yurin emphasized the need to provide the industry with raw materials, equipment and personnel, as well as the importance of state support in promoting metal products in export markets and stimulating domestic consumption.
Leading manufacturers of metallurgy equipment demonstrated their products at Metal-Expo'2024 with the support of the Union of Mechanical Engineers of Russia and the International Union of Metallurgical Equipment Manufacturers METALLURGMASH.
